AEGIS is a safe and effective antimicrobial technology that has been proven to eliminate odour-causing bacteria for more than 30 years. It's compatible with high-performing water repellent systems, as well as with many other auxiliaries used on apparel and footwear. It works to reduce odour-causing bacteria for more than 25 launderings, meaning it lengthens the life of products that utilise its technology.
Is AEGIS sustainable?
Microban is a bluesign® system partner, demonstrating commitment to the highest levels of sustainability and consumer protection. The use of recycled materials helps to reduce landfill burden and the need to source brand-new materials.
Does AEGIS impact fabric durability and performance?
AEGIS is easily and seamlessly applied to fabric during their normal manufacturing processes. It is easily integrated as a wet finish into most pad, spray and exhaust processes, and can be applied as a post-manufacture finish. AEGIS generally does not cause yellowing problems when properly applied, it is often specified for products that have exacting whiteness standards.
If you've ever had to put your favourite shirt right back in the washing machine for a second time, it's probably because of odour-causing bacteria. Unprotected surfaces of apparel and footwear support the growth of bacteria - and washing alone is rarely enough. The only way to truly combat the foul, lingering smell is by combating that bacteria and AEGIS does exactly that.
